We offer a self-study program that you can complete on your own, and you will become a certified Lifeguard through the American Lifeguard Association, which is a nationally recognized organization. This training reflects the latest ECC science and findings from the 2011 United States Lifeguard Standards Coalition Report. With our training program you will not have to wait for a group class. Our self-study programs are a national program and can be taken anywhere, and are utilized by individuals, schools, universities and community pools both here in the United States and abroad.  Please see the following link for information on what our training includes http://www.lifeguardcertificationguide.com/.

With our program, everything is done by you, and you learn your skills on your own time with the use of the newest online training materials where you review a segment and then practice it until you know it, and then move to the next segment.  The training program has had years of research and development placed into it and has the most current lifesaving instructional skills using the best online teaching technology.  It is an online lesson plan, and at the end of the program, we accept an affidavit from you that you completed everything and understand and can accomplish the different required skills. The program we offer allows an individual or small group to learn the required skills.

This program does require that you practice many of the skills in the water, and depending on your swimming skills upon successfully completion will obtain either a Shallow Water Lifeguard certification, or a Deep Water Lifeguard certification called Professional Lifeguard. Remember that as with all certifications the employer should insure that each Lifeguard candidate has all the skills necessary for the position they are being considered, and the employer should make sure the candidate meets the requirements in regard to physical and all other necessary requirements before starting employment.

The purpose of the American Lifeguard course is to teach candidates the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion of the Lifeguard course, each participant will receive an American Lifeguard Certificate indicating Lifeguard, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, which are all valid for 2 years under the new 2012 standards.
